Design Engineer- Electrification

We have a great opportunity for an E & P Design Engineer to join client based in Ruggy, Warwickshire on a 6 Month contract.

Job Title: E & P Design Engineer
Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Salary/Rate: £400.00 per day

The role is for an E&P distribution design engineer with the primary responsibility to undertake design development works for 25kV a.c. and 750V d.c. traction power renewal and enhancement projects. The key role responsibilities are as follows:

* Responsible for the technical aspects of project development from initial remit to GRIP Stage 4 (Outline Design Approval) and providing technical support through GRIP Stages 5 to 8 (Project Implementation);
* Undertaking feasibility studies and option selection studies to enable identification of the optimum, practical and most cost effective technical solution to meet the programme requirements for cost, time and quality;
* Undertake single option design to a fully developed and approved outline design stage;
* Production of technical reports and specifications to meet the programme requirements for cost, time and quality;
* Participation in risk assessments and hazard analyses;
* Co-ordinate the production of distribution design deliverable drawings such as staged substation and equipment layout drawings, cable route drawings, single line diagrams and major feeding diagrams;
* Undertake site surveys and data collection;
* Liaison with other design disciplines, project development teams, project implementation teams, procurement teams, territory engineers and maintenance personnel;
* Address technical issues associated with distribution equipment product approvals;
* Liaison with, monitoring and assessment of Consultants and Contractors engaged in the project development stages, including reviewing design output;
* Reports to the Senior E&P Distribution Design Engineer.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or will hold an equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline. You will have experience in traction distribution power supply system design and/or implementation; you will also have experience of working in an electrical design environment and the production of technical specifications, drawings and other related technical documentation.
