Graduate Quality Engineer - Chinese Speaker

A rapidly expanding, international manufacturing organisation specialising in attachments for the excavator market is seeking an enthusiastic, well-rounded Quality Engineer to start employment in their Pershore office. The successful candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering in order to understand specifications and technical drawings. Following an initial induction period in the UK, they will then be expected to move to China to work for their branch that distributes their products internationally.

Location: Pershore, Worcestershire, then relocate to Wuxi, China
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Job Description
- Report directly to the UK-based Purchasing Manager.
- Source new manufacturers of excavator attachments, and audit existing manufacturers based on the client's assessment criteria.
- Provide commercial data to the UK-based Supply Chain Manager
- Test sample components on dimensional control, the form, fit and function of the component, as well as the Chemical and Mechanical analysis of materials through an external testing organisation.
- Improve supplier product and process quality, whilst ensuring uniformity of work practices through existing manufacturers.
- Ensure use of 8D and PPAP tools with suppliers.
- Inspecting goods at suppliers prior to their distribution, and ensuring sufficient manufacturing takes place to meet demands of customers.

The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or trained and experienced within this discipline.
- Fluent in Chinese as well as English.
- Will be able to travel domestically within China and internationally.
- Experience with sourcing and purchasing negotiations.
- Comfortable reading technical drawings, and experience in ISO9001:2008.
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly of steel fabrications, castings and forgings.
- Proven ability to use measuring equipment e.g. vernier callipers, micrometers.
- Experience in CMM inspections.
