A Helpdesk/First Line Support person is required for a fixed term 6 month contract in London.
The role will be responsible for providing First Line and/or Second Line technical expertise in the configuration and implementation of PCs and PC networks within the client's systems environment.
Candidates should have the following skills/experience;
* Minimum of two years in a technical support role, supporting PC hardware and software and PC networks.
* An understanding of Equality and Diversity
* PC and LAN hardware devices
* Hardware configuration and LAN connectivity.
* Networking protocols, particularly TCP/IP
* Ethernet
* Microsoft operating systems and network software
* Microsoft application software
* INTERNET use
* Maintaining an awareness of appropriate technologies and developing them to provide solutions.
* Customer's business mission, objectives, strategies and plans
* Able to work alone or as a member of a team
* Good inter-personal skills, verbal and written communication skills
* Good customer-facing skills
* Good problem solving skills.
* Able to work in a meticulous, thorough and persistent manner.
* Willingness to learn new skills and apply them for the benefit of user support.
* Taking ownership of problems and personally ensuring that they are resolved.
* Preparedness to work outside normal office hours to deliver support when necessary, both when planned and in dealing with emergencies
