If you have experience in Laser Welding then this is a fantastic opportunity to join our client in Coventry as a Process Engineer.
Our client are a large international name within the Automotive industry and deliver mechatronic systems and electric drives to a large number of automakers and suppliers. They are customer focused and aim to use their expertise in mechanics, electrics and electronics, along with work with leading edge manufacturing technology, to tailor solutions individually for each and every customer.
Position: Process Engineer (Laser Welding)
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Coventry, Warwickshire.
As a Process Engineer, your aim will be to develop and maintain low cost manufacturing methods and processes to ensure product quality. The goal is to be the flagship site in terms of meeting manufacturing business objectives. This is a position of real responsibility and you will be tested on your communication, analytical and methodical skills, along with your ability to make effective decisions and work to tight deadlines. You will be of great advantage if you have previous knowledge and experience in Laser Welding.
Your responsibilities will include to:
*Look after products and work systems of a specific group of customers with relevant product spectrum
*Determine and plan work stations and processes / process improvements using appropriate planning instruments to produce optimum layout
*Establish, introduce, improve and enforce MTM standard times
*Design safe, stable and cost optimised assembly and logistics processes including poka yoke
*Maintain basic data, FMEAs, control modifications
*Facilitate and drive continuous improvement activities in line with business targets and objectives eg. Kaizen workshops, manufacturing and logistics rationalisations
*Ensure machinery availability whilst adapting machine capacity to required call-off figures
*Responsible, as a member of the manufacturing team and together with other team members, for low cost complete process and continuous improvement of processes
*Contribute to the introduction of new products and equipment by understanding and influencing decisions reached by Customer teams
The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level, preferably in a Production Engineering or related degree. Alongside this you will possess experience within a similar role and will benefit if your experience is within the automotive industry. You will have experience in planning, design, standardisation and continuous improvement of overall processes within production. Ideally, candidates will have experience with Laser or MAG welding and robotics. Any knowledge of German is also advantageous.
