Technical Buyer, mechanical engineering experience, Staffordshire, £20k - £23k per annum.

Duties:

Submit company purchase orders to suppliers using the company business system in accordance with company procedures

Perform supplier reviews and audits including visiting suppliers in the UK and abroad

Expedite deliveries from suppliers

Ensure department filing is up to date

Ensure adherence to terms and conditions

Maintain company systems

Active involvement in supplier negotiations

Provide assistance to the Department Manager

Provide support and cover for other departments

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar buying role

Expediting experience

Mechanical engineering knowledge including; pumps, motors, valves

Materials knowledge

Able to deal with suppliers and internal departments on a technical level

Experience of working with MRP systems

ATEX knowledge an advantage

Willing to travel as required
